March 2025 - Current
Mentor/Customer Service Officer
Can-Do Albany/Paragon Games · Albany, Western Australia
Took over the technical and day-to-day operation of Paragon Games, a social gaming hub operated by NDIS provider/youth services agency Can-Do Albany.
Took over a functional but aging network environment aimed at providing gaming experiences using PC/console to public and private participants. Replaced core routing and switching infrastructure while avoiding excessive spending by upcycling and recycling existing hardware using open source solutions. Built a robust, reliable and secure back-end network based on best practices. Upgraded internet connection to provide extra capacity and failover.
Reduced refunds and complaints to almost nil while increasing customer retention and building a positive reputation, leading to increased foot traffic and profit. Acted as first-line customer service, technical support and retail operator. Documented all key systems and implemented processes across all technical/non-technical aspects of operation, including a secure password management system and power automation/power management. Rebuilt the public-facing website and expanded booking processes. Was an integral part of Paragon Games being a finalist for the Albany Chamber of Commerce and Industry Awards 2025 in the "Future Focus" category.
Operated as a mentor as part of Can-Do's youth services programs. Delivered workshops and seminars in a wide variety of topics to children and adults. Successfully organised and delivered events to public and Can-Do participants.
Most recently: was granted full autonomy over the operation of the Paragon Games enterprise in October 2025, with the expectation of taking on full management by EOY 2025.
